These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of dupelint.com, api.dupelint.com, account.dupelint.com, and related services (the "Service"), operated by ROI PIPE LLC ("dupelint," "we," "us"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms.
1. What the Service is
dupelint is a read-only code-resolution oracle. It analyzes code you submit and returns data — a verdict and a suggested rewrite. It decides; it never does: it does not execute your code and does not modify your files. Whether to act on any suggestion is entirely your choice.
2. Soundness, and what we do not promise
A verdict labeled sound rests on an unconditional proof and carries zero false positives by construction. However, the Service does not guarantee that it detects every duplicate (completeness is, in general, undecidable), and results labeled bounded hold only within a stated domain and should be verified by you. The Service is provided for your evaluation; you remain responsible for reviewing and applying any change to your code. Because a suggested rewrite is a suggestion only, you must validate it before use: apply it on a separate branch, run your test suite, review the diff, and keep backups or version control — never apply directly to production. We are not responsible for any consequence of your applying a suggestion. Nothing here is professional, legal, or financial advice.
3. Acceptable use
- Only submit code you own or are authorized to submit. Do not submit secrets, credentials, or personal data you are not permitted to share.
- Do not attempt to reverse-engineer, derive, or reconstruct the Service's methods, models, or internals — including by systematic probing or model-extraction.
- Do not overload, disrupt, or circumvent rate limits or security controls, and do not use the Service unlawfully.
4. Intellectual property
You retain all rights to your code. You grant us only a limited, revocable license to process it in memory for the sole purpose of providing the Service. We retain all rights to the Service — the engine, its decision methods, and all related intellectual property, which include trade secrets. Verdicts are returned to you; the methods that produce them are not licensed or disclosed.
5. Accounts and API keys
When accounts and API keys become available, you are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity under them. Do not share or resell keys. We may suspend access for misuse.
6. Email & SMS messages
If you submit our notify form, you agree to receive automated marketing and transactional emails and text messages (SMS) at the contact details you provide, including via autodialer. Message frequency varies; message & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out of SMS and HELP for help; use the unsubscribe link in any email. See our Privacy Policy.
7. Fees
Some features may require payment. When paid plans launch, applicable pricing and billing terms will be presented before you are charged.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Soundness of an individual verdict is as described in §2; it is not a warranty of uninterrupted or error-free operation of the Service as a whole.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ROI PIPE LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us for the Service in the three months before the claim (or USD $100 if you paid nothing).
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold ROI PIPE LLC harmless from claims arising out of your use of the Service or your violation of these Terms, including claims that code you submitted infringed a third party's rights.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these Terms or to protect the Service. You may stop using the Service at any time.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. The exclusive venue for disputes is San Francisco, California.
13. Changes
We may update these Terms; we'll post the new version here with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use means you accept the changes.
